Little Fires Everywhere is a series based on the novel by Celest Ng. Reese Witherspoon, known for her literary interests, decided to produce this series for the Hulu platform. She also gave herself a leading role in this TV series which of course helped her to promote it.

Her character - Elena Richardson is a woman in her 40s, a mother of four teenagers. The woman seems to have everything - a fantastic husband, a beautiful home, a nice job, and children to be proud of. Her life is close to ideal. Unfortunately, as we all know, ideals do not exist.

Elena is a typical control freak and she can't communicate with her youngest daughter, the rebellious Isabelle. To be honest, their relation can be described as pathological.

The conflict between the mother and the daughter is getting worse when the mysterious artist Mia appears in the neighborhood.

Mia, played by Kerry Washington is a very interesting figure. As an independent artist, she leads a very strange lifestyle. She rents Elena's parents' house together with her daughter, Pearl. Mia's past is shrouded in mystery, the woman is not happy to talk about it. However, she soon becomes friends with Elena's youngest daughter.

As we can guess, Elena is not happy about it. Her character can be compared to the character of Bree Van de Kamp from "Desperate Housewives".

Elena is furious that her daughter hangs out with the "wrong" people. What's more, she feels that she is losing Isabelle and, of course, she blames Mia for that.

Mia doesn't like Elena either. Their characters are completely different, and besides, Elena clearly considers herself a higher-class citizen because she is a white American.

The series exposes the hypocrisy of many Americans who consider themselves tolerant people, but in fact, they are full of prejudices and hidden hatred towards people of a skin color other than white. This makes the series extremely up-to-date, even though it is set in the '90s

Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington make a great duo on screen. The new role allowed Witherspoon to prove once again that she is not just a comedian.

The Queen's Gambit – one of the best TV series of 2020!

Two months ago I was pretty convinced that the fourth season of "The Crown" will be the biggest attraction on Netflix this fall. However, my opinion changed when Netflix released "The Queen's Gambit", a new mini-series based on a novel written by Walter Tevis.  Source: m.imdb.com We live in a world where it's just impossible to watch every TV series. We can choose from so many options! Of course, this situation has its pros and cons. But one thing is certain - it's more and more difficult to attract viewers. TV series are trying so hard to stand out. The story must be complicated, the action must be very fast, plot twists are indispensable...  "The Queen's Gambit" doesn't share these characteristics. And even so, it's one of the biggest hits of Netflix this fall! The series tells us the story of Beth Harmon - an outstanding chess player. The story begins in the mid-1950s when Beth is eight and sent to an orphanage. Her mom, who was

The fourth season of The Crown - a true masterpiece!

There are some TV series that we don't watch but we are all aware of their value. The Crown falls into this category.  You don't have to love the British royal family to watch this show. What's more, I think that The Crown is a perfect choice for everyone who is rather skeptical about the idea of monarchy in our modern world.  Source: oldaintdead.com The Crown landed on Netflix four years ago. Since then, it became a global phenomenon. The series focuses on the life of Elizabeth II. The first season begins when she becomes the queen of the United Kingdom. The next seasons show us the following decades of her reign. We get to know Elizabeth not only as a queen, but we also become witnesses of her private life. We see how she interacts with her husband, her children, her sister, etc. We admire her dedicated service to her country but we can't ignore her indifference towards her own family feelings.  The fourth season of The Crown starts in 1979. Margaret Thatcher wins par
