The Undoing: the blossoming of Hugh Grant's career!

Nowadays it's more and more popular among film producers to create TV series based on bestselling novels. If you create a show based on a famous book, you can be sure that it will attract the fans of the story and the rest of the viewers who will probably watch your series encouraged by advertising...

That's the key to the success of HBO. In recent years this TV network has been offering many interesting TV series based on bestselling books to its viewers. Game of Thrones, Big little lies, The Handmaid's Tale: these are just a few examples of HBO recognizable productions and they are all based on books!

The Undoing, the TV show I would like to recommend to you today, is a part of that list.

What is The Undoing about?

Grace, the main character played by an amazing Nicole Kidman, lives in New York with her husband and son. Her life seems perfect: she's intelligent, beautiful, rich, her husband loves her deeply and her son makes her proud. The family lives in Manhattan, Grace's son goes to an elite school. Grace is a successful therapist and her husband (played by Hugh Grant) works as a pediatric oncologist. Grace is so proud of her husband who seems to be such a responsible and sensitive man. She's really happy.

However, one day her perfect life falls into pieces. Her husband turns out to be unfaithful. He's been cheating on Grace with the mother of their son's friend. The situation seems a mess but it's just the beginning of Grace's problems. The same day Grace realizes her husband is a liar, his mistress is brutally murdered. And Grace's husband becomes the prime suspect!

Is it possible to defend someone who turned out to be a cheater and a liar? Grace is hurt and devastated but she knows her husband, she can't believe he's guilty. Despite the pain she feels, she tries to help her husband detained by police. After all, they have a child together and that makes Grace's situation even harder.

That's why Grace keeps helping her husband until the day she discovers a terrible truth about her spouse's past...

The Undoing seems to be just another TV series about betrayal, murder and family secrets. But it's so much more thanks to its cast!

Nicole Kidman as Grace is simply stunning (just like all her coats she wears in this show) and brilliant. Hugh Grant on the other hand has proved to us that he's capable of playing complex and disturbing characters. I could say that Hugh Grant from the 1990s is gone. He's no longer a charming klutz from Four Weddings and a Funeral. Grant's career is evolving and developing in a very interesting direction. And this is one of the reasons why you should definitely watch "The Undoing".

The Flight Attendant and Kaley Cuoco in a brand-new role

For every fan of The Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco will stay Penny forever. However, time doesn't stand still. New TV series are released every day and every actor dreams of making his mark in film history with more than a role in a sitcom...  Cuoco was given an opportunity to change her image - and she took it. That's why we can all watch her playing the main role in a new HBO TV series: The Flight Attendant.  Source: en.martincid.com This production is an adaptation of the book of the same title written by Chris Bohjlian.  Cuoco plays the main character - Cassandra - an American flight attendant and a reckless alcoholic. Escaping from responsibilities, self-indulgence, and addiction – that's Cassie's whole life. As we can guess, that doesn't help her making good life choices. One day, during a flight to Bangkok, Cassie meets a very handsome guy. Already in Bangkok, she spends a night with him. The next day, she wakes up in his bed in a hotel room... and the handsom...

The Queen's Gambit – one of the best TV series of 2020!

Two months ago I was pretty convinced that the fourth season of "The Crown" will be the biggest attraction on Netflix this fall. However, my opinion changed when Netflix released "The Queen's Gambit", a new mini-series based on a novel written by Walter Tevis.  Source: m.imdb.com We live in a world where it's just impossible to watch every TV series. We can choose from so many options! Of course, this situation has its pros and cons. But one thing is certain - it's more and more difficult to attract viewers. TV series are trying so hard to stand out. The story must be complicated, the action must be very fast, plot twists are indispensable...  "The Queen's Gambit" doesn't share these characteristics. And even so, it's one of the biggest hits of Netflix this fall! The series tells us the story of Beth Harmon - an outstanding chess player. The story begins in the mid-1950s when Beth is eight and sent to an orphanage. Her mom, who was ...

The fourth season of The Crown - a true masterpiece!

There are some TV series that we don't watch but we are all aware of their value. The Crown falls into this category.  You don't have to love the British royal family to watch this show. What's more, I think that The Crown is a perfect choice for everyone who is rather skeptical about the idea of monarchy in our modern world.  Source: oldaintdead.com The Crown landed on Netflix four years ago. Since then, it became a global phenomenon. The series focuses on the life of Elizabeth II. The first season begins when she becomes the queen of the United Kingdom. The next seasons show us the following decades of her reign. We get to know Elizabeth not only as a queen, but we also become witnesses of her private life. We see how she interacts with her husband, her children, her sister, etc. We admire her dedicated service to her country but we can't ignore her indifference towards her own family feelings.  The fourth season of The Crown starts in 1979. Margaret Thatcher wins par...
