Normal People and an unusual love story

Many TV series fans claim that Normal People is one of the best TV series of 2020. There was a rumor spreading that the streets in the whole Ireland were empty when this TV series based on Sally Ronney's novel was aired.

I'm sure that after reading this you're expecting a series full of plot-twists and extreme emotions. However, Normal People is just... a love story. The history of Marianne and Connell became so fascinating for the people that it's just unbelievable.

What is it all about?

The story begins in Sligo - a little, sleepy town in Ireland. She comes from the wealthiest family in town. Their money and a wonderful house make everyone jealous. Marianne is very smart and witty but she doesn't have any friends in high school. She doesn't know how to gain the sympathy of her classmates who are so different from her.

Connell, on the other hand, is very popular among his classmates. He conceals his potential to fit in He plays rugby in his high school team but it's the English literature that interests him the most. His mom is a cleaner in Marianne's family house.

That's why Marianne and Connell's relationship has a chance to develop. Connell is incredibly shy and insecure. He admires a girl who mouths off to everyone who bullies her. If it comes to Marianne, she sees Connell's potential he tries to hide.

Soon they bond with each other. They develop a romantic relationship, but it's doomed to fail. Connell is afraid to admit that he loves Marianne. He's afraid of his colleagues' reaction and their rejection. Marianne can't get it and she leaves him. When they leave Sligo and go to study in Dublin their paths go separate ways. Nevertheless, life still brings them together.

The story of Marianne and Connell is a story of two people who can't live without each other, but, at the same time, they can't be together. Their love story shows us that communication is key to every relationship. Any misunderstanding between two people can ruin even the best relationship. Every time life gives Marianne and Connel the chance, they are sure it's going to be OK this time. However, they are still making the same mistake: they can't admit to their own weaknesses.

Normal People is a deeply psychological TV series. I'm sure you'll love it. I must admit that the whole idea for this TV series seems rather bland but the acting of the main protagonists makes us follow the story of Marianne and Connell with bated breath. Will they overcome their weaknesses? Does their love story have a happy ending? Check it out!

All the 12 episodes of Normal People are already available on HBO GO.

The Queen's Gambit – one of the best TV series of 2020!

Two months ago I was pretty convinced that the fourth season of "The Crown" will be the biggest attraction on Netflix this fall. However, my opinion changed when Netflix released "The Queen's Gambit", a new mini-series based on a novel written by Walter Tevis.  Source: m.imdb.com We live in a world where it's just impossible to watch every TV series. We can choose from so many options! Of course, this situation has its pros and cons. But one thing is certain - it's more and more difficult to attract viewers. TV series are trying so hard to stand out. The story must be complicated, the action must be very fast, plot twists are indispensable...  "The Queen's Gambit" doesn't share these characteristics. And even so, it's one of the biggest hits of Netflix this fall! The series tells us the story of Beth Harmon - an outstanding chess player. The story begins in the mid-1950s when Beth is eight and sent to an orphanage. Her mom, who was ...

The fourth season of The Crown - a true masterpiece!

There are some TV series that we don't watch but we are all aware of their value. The Crown falls into this category.  You don't have to love the British royal family to watch this show. What's more, I think that The Crown is a perfect choice for everyone who is rather skeptical about the idea of monarchy in our modern world.  Source: oldaintdead.com The Crown landed on Netflix four years ago. Since then, it became a global phenomenon. The series focuses on the life of Elizabeth II. The first season begins when she becomes the queen of the United Kingdom. The next seasons show us the following decades of her reign. We get to know Elizabeth not only as a queen, but we also become witnesses of her private life. We see how she interacts with her husband, her children, her sister, etc. We admire her dedicated service to her country but we can't ignore her indifference towards her own family feelings.  The fourth season of The Crown starts in 1979. Margaret Thatcher wins par...
